WHAT AREAS DO YOU PLACE IN?

​

Though we predominantly make placements throughout the Dallas-metro area, we also have an extensive network of private chefs seeking positions in many other areas of Texas. Please contact us and we would be happy to discuss your position, no matter which part of the state you reside.

HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR CLIENTS & CANDIDATES?

​

The Chef Company was founded by Katie Facey, a seasoned domestic agency executive with 25 years of agency owner and placement experience. Katie has worked with an extensive number of private chefs and clients throughout her long and successful career. Through these decades-long professional relationships, Katie has had the opportunity to work with an incredible clientele and the finest talent. Via these connections, Katie has the distinct opportunity to present her clients with only the finest selection of culinary talent and prospective candidates with only the top positions available in the industry.

DO YOU DO BACKGROUND CHECKS ON YOUR CANDIDATES?

​

Yes, we do complete background checks on our candidates before placement and provide the results directly to each client for their records. A summary of the background check components is outlined in our Client Agreement. We are also able to add "a la carte" items to each search should a particular item be requested by our client.

HOW LONG DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR PLACEMENTS FOR?

​

We provide a 6-month guarantee on all placements. Should your initial placement not work out within the first 180-days, we will replace him/her free of charge.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FILL MY POSITION AFTER I REGISTER WITH THE CHEF COMPANY?

​

Each search generally takes 2-8 weeks from start-to-finish. This timeframe will depend on the exact requirements set forth for each position as each search is extremely thorough and personalized. We believe in taking the time to ensure we are meeting the client's expectations from the outset. This said, we've completed placements in a matter of days before! Please contact us if you have any additional questions regarding time frame and we can provide an estimate based on your needs.

ARE YOU ABLE TO FIND A CHEF WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS, RESTRICTIONS OR PREFERENCES? 

​

Absolutely! We feel that the process of hiring and employing a private chef is all very individual. Finding a chef who can uniquely understand your preferences, dislikes and personal nutrition needs it's crucially important. The quality and experience of our chef candidates allow you to be assured you will be hiring a culinary expert who is seasoned and trained in your preferred cuisine style. We have expert chefs who specialize in the following areas (but are not limited to): Dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, macrobiotic, paleo, vegan, plant-based, raw, nut-free, fish and shellfish-free, sugar-free, low sodium, kosher, low-carb, alkaline, Italian, low acid, ketogenic, farm-to-table, low-fat and low-calorie.

DO YOU PLACE PART-TIME CHEFS? HOW ABOUT LIVE-IN?

​

We place both part-time and full-time chefs. We also represent candidates who are interested in live-in and live-out roles. 

​

DO YOU PLACE YACHT CHEFS?

​

Yes, we do place yacht chefs. 

​

DO YOU OFFER A TRIAL WITH THE CHEF BEFORE I MAKE A HIRING DECISION?

​

Once you have identified a chef or chefs you wish to consider, we will arrange a tasting interview. The candidate(s) will come in anywhere from 1-3 days and prepare meals for you to sample their food and get to know them better. The client will be responsible for the groceries, and the chef will be paid for his/her time.

WHAT IS THE SALARY RANGE FOR PRIVATE CHEFS?

​

Private chefs typically earn between $80-125 per hour.

​

DO I NEED A CULINARY DEGREE TO BE PLACED BY THE CHEF COMPANY?

Though it is not a requirement that you have a degree from a culinary school to be placed, it is preferred and encouraged. Any formal training or educational background is attractive on your resume. We also understand that nothing beats "hands-on" experience. Many private chefs possess incredible talent and have impressive resumes without a degree.

 

IS THERE A FEE TO APPLY AND WORK WITH THE CHEF COMPANY TO FIND A POSITION?

 

No, there are no fees charged to chef applicants at any time.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FIND A NEW POSITION?

​

The search timeframe will depend on many different parameters: Your current location, what type of position you're seeking, your level of experience and qualifications and salary expectations. In general, once we have determined we can be successful in assisting you in securing a new chef position, we will provide you with a representation decision, via e-mail. Once this is received, it could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months to place you in a position.
